Introduction
Hey, I'm Joe. I am a First Class English Graduate from the University of Cambridge, where I ranked in the top third of my cohort and received the Sir Arthur Arnold Scholarship and Science Hammond Prize for my academic achievements. I am currently studying a postgraduate in education (PGCE) at the University of Oxford, where I am training to be a teacher; this experience has given me a breadth of research in educational philosophy, and how people learn. I apply these concepts to my tutoring sessions, guided by state-of-the-art research. I have over 500 hours of tutoring experience, working for VIPTutors, MyMentor, MyTutor, and, recently, my own tutoring company BrayStarTutoring. I have received over 80 5* reviews across these platforms, and have a proven track record of improving my student's grades and confidence. I have edited hundreds of personal statements and have a record of helping individuals access top universities. I understand firsthand the difference a good teacher can make to grades and confidence. I achieved 10 GCSE (including 7 A*s), and 3 A*s at A Level., and have my teachers to thank for those grades. During the pandemic, I turned casual tutoring into educating students disempowered by a year out of school. This government-funded scheme was incredibly rewarding and led me to academic and admissions tutoring for MyTutor. My love of tutoring has only grown.
